| It’s surprising how a small, inexpensive item like a box of crayons and a coloring book can bring a smile and hours of joy to a sick child.
We know everyone shops so keep us in mind when you are at the stores. These items can help the young patients occupy their time. Alexis and Nathaniel know first hand from being in the emergency room and in the hospital that sometimes the hours drag. That is why they have been collecting coloring books, journals, crayons, pencils, etc to donate to Banner Desert Children’s Hospital. |
| Alexis and Nathaniel even came up with a fun way to do the collecting. The two classes the kids were in (Kindergarten and 3-4 combo grade) had a week-long contest in May 2007 to see who could collect the most items. The results were remarkable. Those 40 students and their teachers collected 250 books and 105 boxes of crayons. The hospital staff was elated to hear the results. Many, many kids will benefit from these donations. |
